Branding is fundamental for informing your customers about who you are and what you stand for: it contains the imagery and creative design that makes (or breaks) the first impression.
It’s an essential factor to consider if you want to be successful and attract your target audience.
About A Brand: YY Webdesign
My name is Yasmina YENDE SUKA.
I am a self-taught web designer and a certified graphic designer. First trained in Public International Law, the vagaries of life led me to change direction, redirecting me to IT, a field in which I’m still working today.
After a few years of playing around and designing websites for fun, I fell in love with everything web and graphics. So I officially founded YY Webdesign in November 2016.
Working with me means getting a 360° service, from designing your brand identity to applying your branding to your online (website, social media, etc.) and print media.
The Branding
The logo
The primary logo consists of my brand name: “YY Webdesign”. YY represents my first and last name.
And when I was stuck trying to find a way to insert the letter “W” without adding too much to the logo, my husband gave me a hand and created the W I needed from a clever merge of the two “Ys” 🙂
You will also notice the recognisable ® symbol, meaning that my logo is a Registered Trademark, so my brand is legally protected.
The submark
The submark is a simplified or variant version of the primary logo.
It is usually used on small media and allows for a complete visual identity.
For YY Webdesign, the submark consists of the same combination of the letters “Y” as described above in the logo section.
The colours
For my brand, I wanted a palette with both bold and soft qualities, colourful and neutral at the same time.
The typography
Analogue is the primary type I selected for the headings on the website, in documents and visuals.
It’s a « stylish modern font », a mix of serif and sans serif. Its soft curves paired with high contrast glyphs lend it feminine and masculine qualities.
The secondary type, used for subheadings, body texts, captions and more, is a Google font named Raleway, an elegant sans-serif typeface.
The mood
The overall mood of YY Webdesign is about « doing it well ». I thrive on creating visuals that are pleasing to the eyes and serve their purpose.
Your website and other marketing materials will look professional and elegant. and help provide your potential clients with all the relevant information: from getting to know you and what you do to contacting you and, finally, hiring you.
The goal
Branding is what gives your company its own identity, a distinct personality, and helps you define your “why,” or why you do what you do.
It is a visual but silent indicator of your type of business, providing consistency and clarity to your message.
Furthermore, branding lends your company an air of seriousness and professionalism, inspires trust, and distinguishes you from competitors in your industry.
Finally, a good branding strategy allows you to define your target audience better, using the appropriate tone of voice to attract your ideal client.
In conclusion
My work is not only a job; it’s my passion. So for me, web design is not just about creating beautiful web pages.
My goal is to give life to your brand on those pages.
I tell your brand’s story on those pages using your voice, colours, and mood.
I am providing you with a platform where you can freely express yourself, attract your ideal audience and bring them into your world.
